Association of SA
Includes information about their Services, Training and Development,
Strategies and about Autism Spectrum Disorders. Browse the
Resource Centre’s catalogue.
OASIS
(Online Asperger Syndrome Information and Support)
This site contains information about diagnosis, education,
family matters, research, support and more.
Tony
Attwood
Author of the book on Asperger Syndrome! A wealth of information
about resources. Read some of his research papers.
ASD
Australia
By Australian parents for Australian parents. Information
about early signs, intervention, ABA and 'What do I do now?'
- 20 steps for parents following a new diagnosis.
Asperger
Syndrome Australian Information Centre
A SA based supportive website, includes a mailing list and
chat room. Helpful information for high school students.
Tourette
Syndrome Plus
Good information about Tourette’s. This site also has
information about ADD?ADHD, OCD, Bipolar. Autism and rage
attacks. There is some helpful information on behaviour management
and educational issues.
IDSC
Information about their services, read the newsletter “Inform”
online.
Check the links page – links to Centrelink, Department
of Human Services, Disability Information Resource Centre
and the IDSC Library.
Special
Education Services in SA Schools
Scroll through links on left hand side and click on “Additional
Needs”. Choose from new links to find out about school
services. Information included on behaviour management, motor
skills program, disability services, speech and much more.
There are links under “Legislation” to the Disability
Discrimination Act and Equal Opportunity Act.

Downloadable pdf file (79 pages). Published by DETE and made
available to all schools, a copy is also in the Autism Association

Education Resource Centre
SERU has an extensive collection of books, games, toys and
software. Teachers and parents of children with special needs
can borrow from this Resource Centre. Worth visiting to see
the great range of resources available for loan.
LD
Online
Learning Disabilities Online – a huge site with excellent,
informative articles on a wealth of subjects – ADD,
behaviour, self-esteem, social skills, parenting, speech and
language, ….just to name a few!
Child
and Youth Health
The “For Kids” section is a must see, a good resource
for parents and children.
Headroom
Currently being updated - but included here because Headroom
is a great resource on mental health for young people.
Parent
Easy Guides
You may have seen this at some shops. Browse the whole collection
online.
SASRAPID
This organisation runs swimming classes for children with
integration and sensory difficulties, as well as Aquatic Therapy
for children with Autism. This site has information about
all the programs, and you can also download a ‘Request
For Services’ form and be added to the waiting list.
Sharing
The Fun
Fitness/sport classes for children with integration difficulties.
These classes are heavily subsidised and have a high adult:child
ratio. Children have the chance to improve their fine and
gross motor skills and balance, and also to learn how to play
many team games. Highly recommended!
Run by the YMCA. Several different locations across Adelaide.
YMCA
The YMCA, amongst other services, runs Camps and holiday programs
– these are inclusive of children with special needs.
Homeschooling
Kids With Disabilities
Even if you are not the slightest bit interested in homeschooling,
still have a look at this website. Maaja has collated an enormous
amounts of links on general disabilities and special education.
You’ll be impressed.

searchable categories. Therapy toys and equipment is available
for purchase. Photos of products make this site appealing.
